Why
My passion is about abstract painting. I am fascinated by immersing myself into the world of colours, fantasies and forms. Into a world beyond the explainable, beyond reason, a world of the irrational, intuitive.
"It paints" out of an inner drive, according to my subjective aesthetic feeling. With the courage and risk of painting over and over a canvas until it fits, in order to make a statement in my own way.

About me
Early in my life I developed a sense for aesthetics.
I was particularly fond of modern art. However, I didn’t have the financial possibilities to study art. So I was forced to pursue an “honorable”, lucrative profession for years and was left with the role of a passive admirer and exhibition visitor.
But there was always a latent desire to become an artist myself.
After my retirement I rented a studio as a place of retreat and meditation, and started painting with acrylic on canvas.
Looking for perfection, I took courses with established artists to gain additional impetus in colour theory and technique, without allowing myself to be restricted by a predetermined style.

Style
I recognise the craftmanship of figurative art, but it is not my way. I miss the excitement, the room for interpretation. My pictures have fantasy titles. But i don't want to impose myself on the viewer. I want to leave him the possibility of free interpretation. But in the background I'm trying to invent accompanying narrative, in order to be prepared for a lively exchange of ideas with the viewer.

Technique
The technique consists of a film-over-film-mixingtechnique on canvas with acrylic, sand, rollers, sponges and a lot of other unusual tools.
Ideas
Going through life with open eyes and ears gives me also ideas for pictures.
